The One With The Third Delay

You can probably tell by the title of this post what has happened.
Yep, that's right. We have been delayed YET again.
I'm going to go through each delay so that you can begin to understand my acute frustration and impatience.

Delay No. 1

I can't barely even remember the reason for this delay. I think the surgeon felt that my bones were too soft for surgery, which led to me going through (to this day) something called Bisphosphonate treatment.

There had been talk of an operation previously but I hadn't given it much thought as I was only in year 7 at the time. Anyway, up I was in my room creating a leaflet about 'My Day Out', for my French class, when my parents came in and told me that I was going in the following Monday. It was Saturday.
I didn't have any time to react and I was still unsure as to what was going to happen so I wasn't all that bothered. However, I remember being delighted that I didn't have to finish my homework and shoved it to the back of my desk drawer.

Along comes Monday and in we go to be told that the surgeon had rethought the surgery and felt that my bones were too squidgy to operate on. Boo-hoo, weep-weep. That was delay no. 1

Delay No. 2

This one was a little more traumatic.
I think it was about a week before I was due in when we got that news that the surgeon had broken his wrist on holiday. However, his wrist healed and surgery was to go ahead as per usual.

Then I caught a cold.

We still went in on the day that I was due to go in but were sent straight back home.
I was gutted but I wasn't really expecting surgery to go ahead anyway, so I spent the last couple of weeks in   bed with a bunged up nosed and a scratchy throat...

Then..

Delay No. 3

Last week, we called up to ward to confirm our coming in the following week and they seemed to have no idea that we were coming in, and apparently Mr Thompson (the surgeon) was still having difficulty with his wrist..OH, REALLY??!!

This one was the easiest delay though because it means that I can still be here on my sisters Birthday and I'm apparently top of the list.

So...I think I'm going in on the 11th but who knows.
It's my Birthday on Sunday and my party tomorrow so I've got that to look forward to :)

Ciao!

The One With The First Post

I'm not too sure how I'm meant to start this kind of thing...this is my first blog and I don't know anything about this kinda stuff. I guess I'll just start with something about me (below).

I don't usually look like this.

I live with my family in South East London, my family being my mum, dad and sister Mary. I have a rare bone condition which means my bones are uber soft. It means that I missed practically the whole of Year 7 and most of 8. Even now I only go in after 10.00 in the morning and I get tired very easily. I'm going in for surgery on the 5th of September..a relief considering that my birthday is on the 2nd!

I'm a pretty quiet person. I like to read and watch films and I don't really get out that much although I have AMAZING friends and family who are incredibly supportive. Okay, I'm going to do a whole likes, dislikes kind of thing to help you get to know me a bit better:

LIKES:

  • Hanging out with my friends and family
  • Eating chocolate, pizza and pasta (especially spag bol)
  • Watching films and reading books
  • Lying in the Sun
  • Art/English/Drama
  • F.R.I.E.N.D.S (the t.v. show)
DISLIKES:

  • Not having a book to read
  • Getting hayfever
  • Feeling self-conscious
  • Feeling ill
  • Slimy food

So that is pretty much all you need to know at the moment.

If I don't catch up beforehand WISH ME LUCK IN MY OP!
